Building bridges & bridging gaps

The City of Logroño, Spain, will host the Fourth International Conference on Ethics Education. The 4IAEE Conference will take on May 25th-27th, 2016.

The 4IAEE Conference is organized by the International Association for Education in Ethics (IAEE) and the Center for Biomedical Research of La Rioja (CIBIR) of the Rioja Salud Foundation (FRS). The CIBIR and the FRS are supported by the Department of Health of the Regional Government of La Rioja, Spain.

The aims of IAEE are (a) to enhance and expand the teaching of ethics at national, regional and internationals levels, (b) to exchange and analyze experiences with the teaching of ethics in various educational settings, (c) to promote the development of knowledge and methods of ethics education, and (d) to function as a global centre of contact for experts in this field, and to promote contacts between members from countries around the world.

Ethics plays an important role in all areas of knowledge. However, the world’s education systems vary widely in terms of structure and curricular contents. Also, important differences are among cultures and societies. Taking those issues in consideration, the Program Committee of the 4IAEE covers the ten core thematic areas proposed by the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED) of the UNESCO, and where Ethics Education and Research is involved.
